Much of the village is a designated conservation area, with 68 buildings listed as being of special, architectural or historic interest. It also has an extensive network of green lanes and paths, glades and the Kingsclere stream.

Painting Day at The Lytchets, Bagnor

Viv and Roy Lovell welcome the Art Group to paint in their extensive gardens which also border the River Lambourn at the front. Gardens rise at the back and feature borders and vegetable gardens. From their field, there are views over the village. The public footpath alongside leads onto Snelsmore Common with its wonderful native trees. The Blackbird pub welcome us to use the toilet facilities on their pizza terrace.

Painting Day at Kintbury Lock

There are a choice of subjects to paint around the canal, including canal boats, water, wildlife, bridges and architecture. There are parking areas and toilets between the railway line and the canal and the Dundas Arms Pub is close by.

Painting Day at Whitchurch Silk Mill

This is the oldest silk mill in the UK still in its original building. If you want to see the mill it is £7 or £6 for seniors. There is a new café that you can use without paying for admission and there are lots of free painting opportunities outside with plenty of benches and chairs. Whitchurch is just down the road.
